New Culture and Connections Project
Culture and Connections in Ripon is a project that aims to get people (aged 16 or over) involved in cultural activities who otherwise might not take part. The Coordinator, Helen Young, and a team of trained volunteers are offering extra, low level support (or 'buddying') to people to encourage and support them to get involved in a range of taster activities at the Museums. There is no capacity to offer higher levels of support, so it is not suitable for people who have higher levels of physical or mental health support needs. Participation is free of charge.
The aim is to try and increase the number of social connections that participants have access to, inside and outside of the museum, to reduce social isolation and increase wellbeing.
People may self-refer by completing a form and sending it in, or by contacting the museum direct, or they may be referred by an organisation.
