Survey: Proposed Charity Street Collection Policy

Harrogate Borough Council is currently reviewing its Street Charity Policy with regard to charitable collections held throughout the district.

Currently each town and city has allocated days where local or national charities are able to apply to stand and collect money from people passing by. These charities are recognised by the Charities Commission and Harrogate Borough Council allocates when they are able to collect money in the district. In November priory is given to The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, which collects throughout the district.

Collections may be held in Ripon on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Harrogate Borough Council is seeking views of residents, businesses and those in the voluntary community sector with regards to this policy.
