Concert: St Charles Singers
The St Charles Singers, a professional American chamber choir of around 30 voices from Chicago, will be giving a concert of some rarely heard American music, notably Dominick Argento's 'Walden Pond' (1996), a virtuosic and evocative five movement work for mixed choir, three cellos and harp.
The Chicago Tribune describes the choir as 'a splendidly disciplined and beautifully responsive group - choral singing doesn't get much better than this'.
Tickets available in the Cathedral shop, Little Ripon Bookshop and on the door, £15, £12 for concessions.
